Beyond a Beating Heart by Joshua David Snell
Amazon summary:
After an accident sends his friend into a coma, a young protagonist must face the questions of purpose, value, and the nature of life in the shadow of mortality.
My review:
This is a very short story, around 17 pages, but it drew me in from the very beginning. It is a beautiful story about loss and how to deal with it. I think it has the potential to be even better, if Josh were to continue the story and dive deeper into redemption after a loss. It was a very touching story that I would recommend to everyone. I loved the part at the end where the pastor says everything shouldn’t go back to normal after a loss.
