My Review:
From the cover, I expected this to be a light, fun, girly read. However, the inside of the book contained so much more. This was not what I would call a light read by any means, but it was a great book. The author did a really good job conquering writing about the emotions and everything else that goes along with the disease Jude’s father had. It’s definitely a difficult subject, but an important one nonetheless.
The romance in this book was off the charts. Emilio is so incredibly sweet, but doesn’t want anyone to know that. I loved getting to see him reveal more and more of himself and his memories to Jude as the book went on. I was a huge fan of Emilio. On the other hand, Jude’s sisters annoyed me at times. They were so strong willed and Jude would not do anything about it. It really got on my nerves, but I think that was the author’s goal. We weren’t supposed to like the sisters. Although I was okay with them by the end of the book. I really liked how much family was in this book. It showed how important family is to them.
The main thing I did not like about this book, was I felt like we did not get closure about a lot of things. There was closure about certain aspects of the story, but what about the other parts? That was a little disappointing to me. I would have liked a little more. The ending was sweet though, and I really enjoyed this book.
