This is a beautiful, emotional, tragic, marriage in trouble/second chance romance! The entire story (except for a piece of one chapter) is told from the Emmett’s point of view. I don’t read many books only told from the hero’s point of view, but this one was done so well!
This book is very difficult to review without spoiling it. I will say definitely check trigger warnings before diving in. There is a lot of grief in this book. However, it’s such a well written love story! Emmett is the most selfless hero I have ever read. The way that he put his family first in everything that he did was so sweet.
I loved Lucy’s character and how she fought for her parent’s relationship. I loved getting to see Lucy and Emmett’s relationship and how much they loved each other. They share a secret that could have hurt their relationship, but they have the sweetest father-daughter bond.
