The Tourist Attraction by Sarah Morgenthaler
Goodreads Summary:
When Graham Barnett named his diner The Tourist Trap, he meant it as a joke. Now he’s stuck slinging reindeer dogs to an endless string of resort visitors who couldn’t interest him less. Not even the sweet, enthusiastic tourist in the corner who blushes every time he looks her way…
Two weeks in Alaska isn’t just the top item on Zoey Caldwell’s bucket list. It’s the whole bucket. One look at the mountain town of Moose Springs and she’s smitten. But when an act of kindness brings Zoey into Graham’s world, she may just find there’s more to the man than meets the eye…and more to love in Moose Springs than just the Alaskan wilderness.
My Review:
This is the first book written by the author, and I can tell. While I did enjoy this book, I feel like it definitely could have been better. That being said, I definitely still want to read the next book in this series. I want to know what happens to these characters.
Overall, this was a sweet love story that I really enjoyed. However, I felt like the ending was way too predictable. Don’t get me wrong, I know most romance books are semi-predictable. I wasn’t looking for a shocking plot twist or anything, but I knew from the beginning of the book that it would probably end the way it did. I really loved Zoey and Graham’s romance, and I liked getting to know all of the Alaska locals. However, I really didn’t like Killian and all of his friends, and almost felt like they weren’t really needed in the story. I think just having Lana would have been enough.
There were several sad parts of this book that broke my heart. There was also a lot of back and forth between Graham and Zoey towards the end of the book when they knew her trip was coming to an end. This was borderline annoying, but I think the author managed it well. It was just enough without being too much. Overall, this was a predictable but sweet book that I would recommend.
